It is the good old question that has been making its rounds for years now. The reason Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still unmarried despite seven children and seven years between them. For an open-minded country, it is surprising to see that the law still refuses to budge when it comes to gay marriage. It is a little sad to see that people are still bent upon the so-call ‘traditional’ rule that states only opposite sex can get legally married. Though the rules have been changed in a few states, people still cannot bind gay marriage across America!
The news has gained much more publicity with some of the Hollywood A-listers joining into legalize any sort of marriages. The battle has been going on for years. Finally, the Supreme Court is willing to hear the argument for an against the Proposition 8 clause which bans gay marriage in California. A lot of Hollywood stars are in Washington to show their support for marriage equality. Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black, who is an ardent supporter of marriage equality, will be present during the hearing at the Supreme Court. He took to Facebook to give his opinion. He posted a status saying, “Four years ago I stood on a very big stage and made an even bigger promise to the young people of this nation. That hopeful promise quickly turned to hard work and collaboration. In a few hours, I will walk into this nation’s highest court to watch our team make the case to fulfill that promise of Federal Equality. Our time is truly now.”
Those who couldn’t make it to the hearing took to various social networking platforms to express their support for the marriage equality law. Not just Hollywood, the corporate biggies including Google, Apple, CBS, Walt Disney, Viacom and more industries have also joined the cause.
With the media and celebrities joining force, will the Supreme Court give in to the wishes of millions across America? However, there are always two sides to a coin! There are a few narrow-minded cronies who still feel that same-sex couples should not allowed to get legally married. On whose favor will the judgment be passed? It looks like the entertainment industry will be heard out this time. We have to wait for a little longer. The verdict is expected to given by June.
